Driving through KwaZulu-Natal: Oct 1

Today we had the full South African driving adventure.  I found it disorienting to be on the left side of the road with the sun to the north and the ocean on the right/south with cars coming toward us on the right and the windshield wipers turning on each time we changed lanes.

The landscape changed to a rolling hills, bushy, agricultural setting.  Pineapple stands along the road, even cattle grazing in the freeway right-of-way with farmhands watching over them.

Before we left the Oyster Box, though, we walked along the beach and dipped our toes into the Indian Ocean.  Evidence:

Beautiful beach, lots of sand and sun – looks like a good place to spend some time.

Our room at the Oyster Box looked out onto this Lighthouse –

Squinting, but you get the idea …

‘Twas a nice place to rest up, on to the animals.

  1. Haaaa ! I can completely relate to turning the wipers on at every turn. Probably an instant giveaway to the South Africans that you are a tourist.
